Adroit Construction Co. Recognized - 5/22/2009
Adroit Construction Co., Inc. is proud to announce that we have been recognized by the Oregon Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OR-OSHA) as a SHARP employer. SHARP employers are an elite group of employers who receive special status with OR-OSHA where they are allowed to take responsibility for their own safety and health programs and monitor their compliance with OSHA standards. With only a handful in the entire State of Oregon, Adroit will join an elite group of General Contractors.
The SHARP acronym stands for Safety and Health Achievement and Recognition Program. Employers that apply for SHARP status must meet or exceed OSHA requirements in 58 categories, have a letter of commitment from their senior management, and be at, or below the average injury rate for their industry. The SHARP program was designed by OSHA using the top performing US industries as a model. They looked hard at what made each of the top performers successful and distilled it into seven essential functions. These seven functions were then expanded into the 58 critical elements that successful employers must master.
Jeff Smith, Adroit Construction Safety Director, estimates that the safety committee and first line supervisors have put in close to 700 hours of work getting to this point. We are honored to be recognized as a SHARP employer and proud to provide one of the safest work environments for Southern Oregon and Jackson County employees and employers.
